Mold Assembly Process

As the name implies, mold assembly is to match and connect the parts of the mold in a certain process sequence according to the mold assembly drawing and the specified technical requirements to make it meet the design requirements. So, what is the process flow of mold assembly? First of all, we should understand the characteristics of mold assembly.

The process is centralized, the process is flexible, the process documents are not detailed, and the proportion of manual operation is large. Workers are required to have high technical level and various process knowledge. In addition, the equipment and assembly tools used are also general equipment and tools

The mold assembly process usually includes four stages: preparation, component assembly, general assembly, inspection and debugging.

(1) Mold assembly preparation stage

I. Familiar with the assembly process procedures

Injection mold assembly process is the process document of mold assembly process and operation method, and is also the technical document to guide the mold assembly work, which is the basis of assembly production plan and technical preparation. Therefore, before assembly, workers must carefully read the assembly process procedures to understand and master the mold

The general assembly drawing is the main basis of mold assembly. Generally speaking, the structure of the mold largely determines the assembly order and method of the mold. By analyzing the general assembly drawing, parts assembly drawing and parts drawing, you can gain an in-depth understanding of the structural characteristics and working performance of the mold; understand the function of each part in the mold and the relationship between them, matching requirements and connection methods to determine a reasonable assembly benchmark, and then combine with the process specification

III. develop the assembly method and assembly sequence. Check the parts

Check whether the number of parts is sufficient according to the parts list on the general assembly drawing, then carefully clean each part, then carefully check the main parts, such as the shape and size tolerance of the cavity, and identify the mating surface clearance of each part, machining allowance, whether there are deformation and crack defects, etc

IV. master the mold acceptance technical conditions

The technical conditions of mold acceptance is the basis of mold quality standard and acceptance, as well as the process basis in the assembly process. This acceptance technical conditions mainly refers to the technical agreement signed with the customer and the technical requirements of the product drawings and the quality standards promulgated by the state. Therefore, before assembly, workers must fully understand these technical conditions so that they can pay full attention to the assembly of qualified molds during the assembly process

V. Development of assembly site

When assembling molds, a good assembly site is needed. The site must be clean and tidy, and there must be no debris. At the same time, the necessary tools, fixtures, gauges and other assembly equipment for assembly must be prepared and wiped clean to open up a civilized production site

VI. prepare standard parts and related materials

Each set of molds has many standard parts, such as screws, pins, nuts, springs, etc.. Although the quantity is small, there are many specifications. In order to assemble smoothly, these standard parts must be found one by one at the beginning of the assembly so that they can be searched during the assembly process. In addition, the auxiliary materials required for the assembly process, such as rubber, adhesives, etc. should also be prepared as needed

(2) Mold assembly assembly phase

Assemble the components according to the function of each part

(3) Mold assembly assembly stage includes the following.

(1) Select the assembly benchmark and arrange the assembly sequence of the upper and lower molds

(2) assembly and combination of parts and assembly parts according to the assembly sequence to form a complete mold

(3) assembly of the mold after assembly, must ensure that the assembly accuracy to meet the specified technical requirements

(4) Inspection and commissioning stage includes the following.

(1) Checking the function of each part of the mold according to the technical conditions of mold acceptance

(2) Testing, adjusting and correcting the mold under actual production conditions until the mold product is qualified

Although the mold assembly process seems simple, the operator needs to be careful during the operation and follow the specifications strictly for the installation.
